We live in a babble of information that overwhelms us, yet in many ways ignorance predominates. Despite our relative prosperity, unhappiness predominates.
Stoic philosophy, which emerged in ancient Greek and Rome, has played a significant role in the search for wisdom and happiness. This still remains the case in the modern world, and in particular since the 1970s when it became popular again, given its relevant to modern problems.
The aim of this introductory talk is to explain the fundamental of stoic philosophy to the layperson. Hopefully the talk will facilitate the path for those interested, or curious, in pursuing stoicism in the search for greater happiness and fulfillment of life.
