A Fascinating Visit to the Aga Khan Centre
Recently 18 members visited the Aga Khan Centre in King’s Cross, where we were made most welcome.
Our extensive tour was led by Shahnaz, who described the experience as travelling along the historic Silk Road. In just one day, we enjoyed a whirlwind journey through Andalucía, Iran, Uzbekistan and other parts of the Muslim world, discovering fascinating objects, beautiful works of art and peaceful gardens along the way.
The visit gave us wonderful insights into Muslim cultures, traditions and discoveries, as well as the Centre’s important role as a place of learning.
We also learned about the work of the Aga Khan Agency for Habitat, which helps create communities that are more resilient to disasters, able to adapt to climate change and equipped to thrive. Some of our group also viewed the current exhibition, which highlighted this important work.
