Visit to the Bank of England Museum and Talk.

10th December 2025

On December 10th, eighteen of us had lunch in an Italian restaurant (local to the Royal Exchange) before heading into the Bank of England Museum where there is a great collection showcasing the history of the UK's central bank, from gold bars to banknotes and even some old machinery and some very interesting tales told by the staff. We finished with an interesting and interactive talk on the history of the Old Lady of Threadneedle Street.

And remember the name of John Soane the original architect- he may well be cropping up in a few of the visits planned for 2026!
