Report from our April monthly meeting

This Thursday’s Monthly Meeting proved to be, not only a wonderful opportunity to enjoy good company but included an update on Aging Well and a fascinating talk on the Quakers of the local area

Twenty four members attended and heard Gerry O’Kello share an update on Aging Well including two very important dates for your calendar-
Age Without Limits Action Day see in the calendar
Wednesday 10th June Chargeable Lane
Ageing Well Festival see in the calendar
Saturday 26th September, East Ham Leisure Centre
He also mentioned and left leaflets about several Newham initiatives including the Better Balance Falls Prevention Programme. Available free to residents aged over 50.

We were also delighted to welcome Dr Mark Gorman and Peter Williams MA (Cantab), two very well known local historians, who gave a very interesting and insightful talk on notable Quakers who have lived in the local area, especially around the location of our venue, Clapton Community Football Club More details here on our list of talks
We also launched a new monthly raffle as a fun way to raise a thank you donation for Clapton Community Football Club
Peter announced the start date of a new class - Mindful Movement and Stretch which he will be leading from Tuesday 7th April at East Ham Leisure Centre see in the calendar
He will also be continuing weekly Chair Yoga classes on Mondays 11.30-12.30 from 13th April at Clapton see in the calendar
